Pokhara-The Gateway to the Annapurnas

A short flight from Kathmandu takes you to sub-tropical Pokhara. Nepal’s premier lake side resort with great views of the Annapurna range.

From Pokhara it’s a short drive to the trail head and the trek starts proper into the Modi Khola Valley at a relatively low altitude.

Crossing suspension bridges is all part of the fun too and saves some very long diversions.

 

One option is to include a side trek to the famous Himalayan sunrise view point of Poon Hill and combine Annapurna Base Camp & Poon Hill.
